The "I Feel You" project takes you on a fascinating journey to Israel!
Our main goal is to foster German-Israeli friendships and find out how young people shape their lives in different countries. To do this, the participants shoot and cut home videos that describe the life of their new friends in the other country. The special thing about it: the clips of the German participants are interpreted and edited by their Israeli partners, and vice versa. The result will be home videos that individually describe the life of the other person in the other country. "I Feel You!" is the goal - the videos should enable us to empathize with the lives of others.
In addition to a workshop on film with the Israeli filmmaker Shai Levy, we also undertake excursions to the Gollwitz Castle memorial in Brandenburg, the Jewish Museum and Israeli restaurants and meeting places in Berlin. On the Israeli side we experience a tour through the desert, as well as impressions from Tel Aviv and other places. A meeting trip to Israel is also planned in 2022, as well as a visit to the Israeli group in Berlin.
"I feel you!" Is a project for young people from Israel and Germany, which enables the participants to understand the meaning of emotions in the political and social structure and to classify them against the background of different cultures of remembrance. By dealing with the subject of “emotions”, we want to understand German-Israeli history, bear historical responsibility and jointly shape a solidary and peaceful future.
Planned time period of the project:
April 30 - May 2, 2021 weekend at Castle Gollwitz
August 20-22, 2021 weekend in Berlin Ostkreuz
Between the weekends: Israeli-German small groups work together on "home videos"
As soon as the travel situation is safe: visit of the German group in Israel, visit of the Israeli group in Germany
